Nailing It: How Hollywood Beauty & Nails Supplies became a local sensation
Peckham, London.
Hollywood Beauty and Nails Supplies started as a small family business in 1997. James and Henry Chau recognized a gap in the UK's beauty market for effective yet affordable products and they decided to open a small shop in the Peckham area in London.
The small store offered a range of high-quality, reliable, and affordable nail products that cater to a variety of nail types and were manufactured by the family in California. It took a lot of hard work, dedication and persistence but the store started to gain traction and gradually became a go-to destination for many beauty enthusiasts in the area.
James and Henry’s commitment to customer satisfaction has earned them a loyal following among nail technicians and beauty lovers. The business evolved and the family decided to move to a bigger location in the same area. In 2012, the team decided to launch an online store in order to serve more customers across London and the entire UK.
What started as a dream has turned into a success story, with the company now offering a large range of nail products to suit every need. And while the company may have started as a local store, it has quickly grown into a hybrid business, with its online presence being the driving force behind its growth

As the company expanded its operations to include an online store, and as delivery became a core element of their business, James and Henry constantly looked for ways to improve the efficiency and the quality of their delivery offering.
However, finding a delivery partner that ticks all the boxes was no easy feat. Over the years Hollywood Beauty and Nails Supplies have worked with various delivery companies. “It was always a tradeoff between quality and price”, explains Henry. “Some delivery companies offered a reliable service but with extremely expensive prices. Others offer affordable rates with a very poor service”.
